Palm Springs is the epicenter of mid-century modernism (MCM). Some iconic homes, like the Kaufman house (where the iconic Slim Aarons Poolside Gossip photo seen above was taken), Elvis Honeymoon home, Frank Sinatra home, and of course the Dinah Shore estate (our wedding venue)!
PS Design Museum offers Saturday morning tours of the famous Albert Frey home (Frey House II) in the hills above PS: https://www.palmspringslife.com/our-events/frey-house-ii-tour-museum-day-pass/
Or, just check out some great neighborhoods for walking and enjoying these classic homes: Old Las Palmas (especially Rose Ave and nearby streets), Twin Palms, and Racquet Club estates.
An incredible experience, the tram goes to the top of Mt San Jacinto, 9000 feet above sea level. It's a forest climate, great for hiking. The temperatures will be 40 degrees cooler than on the desert floor, so plan accordingly.
A biannual installation across the Coachella valley, within 30 minute drive of Palm Springs (including some pieces in town).
Paid admission - trails on Indian Reservation with waterfalls and palm groves.
Home and grounds of the Annenberg family, over 500 acres with amazing views of the San Jacinto mountains. Reservable home and grounds tours, but also fun to visit and do a self-guided "garden" tour.
